Sometimes, office chairs no matter the cost can be a bit boring or even uncomfortable or maybe you just have an old chair that you can’t bring yourself to part with. Whatever the reason you may have, sometimes your chair can do with a little touch-up! So here are ways to make your office chair suck less.
- Re-upholster it
If your chair is looking a bit worn out or maybe it just looks bland and boring, consider reupholstering your chair and using bright, fun colours or even different designs like superhero’s or whatever else may interest you.
- Give It Some TLC
This one more count for older chairs, there are many ways to give your old chair some love and make it look all shiny and new again.
I already covered upholstery but what about a new set of wheels? or even a spray paint/re-colour of the legs of the chair?
If you have a leather chair there are many fantastic products on the market to help repair leather or make it last longer, consider investing in some of those or if you have a fabric chair, you can also purchase fabric protection and repair kits.
- Add More Support
Comfort is important, especially for long days in the office so whether you bought a new chair that turned out to be uncomfortable to sit on or you old chair has simply lost its touch, you can add more support to it to help this situation.
Consider adding your own cushioning or a footrest to your chair, you can even buy small neck and back support pillows that attach directly on to your office chair.
- Give Your Chair Some Personality
If you can’t afford to give your chair a makeover or buy a new one, then just add some personality to it!
Cover it with your favourite blanket and throw some of your favourite cushions on the seat, pin some of your favourite items to it, for example, Your favourite keychain, make it yours.
You can even use a fluffy rug to cover your chair, just cut it to size and staple it to your chair.
I have even seen examples people attach photos of loved ones, friends and pets to their chair as to make a personalised collage on it.
Be creative, there are many ways you can make your chair suck less or even repurpose it to be like brand new or just make it to suit your own personality and add a little touch of you into your workspace.
Sometimes your chair can even be the difference between a good day’s work or a bad days work and let’s be honest you don’t want to start your day off on bad terms.
Your chair is important and it’s as equally important that your chair feels good for you, so whether it’s an upgrade in comfort or just giving it a makeover you can easily make it suck less and become awesome!
